Lake Elsinore Advanced Pumped Storage
The Lake Elsinore Advanced Pumped Storage (LEAPS) is a hydroelectric power storage project developed by The Nevada Hydro Company in Vista, California (USA) since 1997.
The project is based at Lake Elsinore in California and is a sustainable and innovative way to generate electricity with the water of the lake. The LEAPS project could be supplying electricity to the California grid by late 2022 or early 2023.
The Nevada Hydro Company reached out to me with the question to give there project a professional and sustainable image. I created a branding and web design that fits the needs and story of the project.
The logo icon represents the rotating generator which pumps the water up the hills and generates electricity. The typography is very clean and professional which gives the brand a trustworthy and remarkable image.
The project got some bad response from a lot of people, because the previous website wasn’t clear to them. Local people didn’t understand the purpose of the project and thought the storage would be bad for the environment.
My challenge was to design a clear website to inform the local people and government better about the project. The website must be very user friendly and easily readable. I implemented the branding into the website and created one single page website which is easily readable on desktop and mobile.
